- Working Principle
A Ball Valve works on a quarter-turn (90°) rotary mechanism to control the flow of liquids and gases through a pipeline. It consists of a spherical ball with a central bore that rotates inside the valve body. When the bore is aligned with the pipeline, the valve remains open, allowing smooth and unrestricted fluid flow. When the ball is rotated 90 degrees, the flow passage is blocked, providing a tight and reliable shut-off. Ball valves can be operated manually using a lever or automatically through pneumatic and electric actuators.
